The oldest teacher there was the metal work teacher Mr Rolands, he taught my father. The head teacher was Mr Vincent and the science and music teacher was a Mr Basil Holt.

Our neighbour Mr Prince had been a real bobby and so we both got to borrow his old helmet.

For some reason, we had to spend a term at the Annex, this was an old building down towards Spring Hill on Monument Road.

I would catch the No 8 at the bottom of Reservoir Road, going to the front seat upstairs if possible for 4 stops on my own aged 8 years old for the price of 1 1/2d "penny apenee", but coming home was different.

I have been living here in South Africa for the past 40 years.

I have been married to my Husband Alan for 56 years and have two sons and a daughter, six Grandchildren and two Great Grandsons.
